Hello All !!!

Currently I have a 1991 ford festiva.

I have a sony 810 Xplode radio hooked up to the fronts and rears.

I have the sub out running to a 1200 watt sony amp.

The amp is running the Lt to the Lt side of a box and the and RT to the Rt
side of the box. so its only 200 RMS each side or 400 Watts max per side !!!

The box has 2 10" sony Xplodes.

Also I have a Rock Forgate 1/2 cap to help the AMP.

The fronts are fine for now as I will replace them soon, but I would like to
replace the rears with a set of Sony Xplodes.

The system at Best Buy list the Rears as 5 1/4" and they look like they are
4" speakers.

I do plan on taking in the back plates that hold the speaker to match them
up, but could any of you give me the right size as I would like to find the
price before I go there and make sure they can handle the RMS output of the
radio befor I buy them ?

Thanks in advance !!!

Hello Everyone !!!

Well there is some strange stuff with the rear speakers in a festiva from
the 88' to 95' years I believe it is every year of the makes.

Seems Ford decided to make a setup to try and force people to replace
speakers with them. From what I gather and is only the basic facts is in
some years and models they put in 4.75" speakers in the rears that customers
can access easy and would throw them for a loop as I still can not find
speakers that match the ones that were in there in the same size.

After a bit of research I found that there is a way to hook up and mount 5",
but from the selection that I also believe is a special marketing ploy to
milk people is the it is limeted to either 3 in the general selection, or a
person needs to buy some higher qualty 4" speakers.

I did not see paying out over $100 a pair for 5" and that would of been a
special setup also, but I went with some nice Alpines 4" with a high
tweeter.

Now the speakers will handle 120 watts peak or 25 RMS.

The sony explode puts out 52 watts max or 32 RMS as VIA sony web site, but I
also learned it also is a ploy as the RMS is only 26.

This also was not a big deal as I have the 4 outputs set on the HPL @
120hz., and from 150 or 160 hz and below is from the 2 10" subs.

The amp shows 130 and then there is a small gap and then 170 so when turning
the screw I had to kind of put it between 130 and 170.

I will also post anorther fresh post to list the info on the setup, about
the Dec. amount of output and what I have it adjusted to.
