My 1990 Festiva stopped running suddenly and will not start.
The ignition seem to be working as the plugs are firing.
I thing the problem is the fuel pump or puel pump relay.
I think the pump used to make a noise when the key is turne on, but I
don't hear it now. Can someone confirm that the pump does make a noise
when they turn the key on their fuel injected festive? It will give me a
place to start.
Thanks,

From my Haynes book:

After removing the gas cap, you should hear the fuel pump whirring when the key
is "on", but not running. The pump's in the fuel tank, which is under the rear
seat.

If the car was bumped there is a fuel cutoff switch you can reset. There's a
small hatch behind the driver's seat in the area of the fuel filler. Pushing
that button resets the switch. It's also connected to airbag systems on cars
with them.

There is a fuel pump relay. The grn/yel wire should be hot when on. Check the
fuse links, and the "main relay", whose yel/blk wire should be hot when on.

Maybe the fuel filter's just clogged.

In my case the idle solenoid wire insulation had worn away, allowing an
intermittent short that seemed like a fuel problem. Mine are carbed, but a
similar situation might be happening with your injector wires.

Good advise, just fixed my wifes car with a blown fusible link, after I
unessarily replaced the fuel pump (15-20 minute job).
Specifically check the fusible link marked EGI.
Best to replace left and right fusiable links with 30 Amp
cartridge fuses and the main fusible link with a 40 Amp cartridge fuse.
Cartige fuses are sealed from road grime and salts that cause them to
corrode and fail.
